Terms of use for Afër
Last updated: 7 October 2026
1. Operator and scope
Afër is an online marketplace operated by:
Berat MuratiIlmi Emini 6Zhabar i Poshtëm40000 MitrovicaKosovoEmail: info@aferteje.comThese terms of use apply to the use of the Afër platform at aferteje.com and the functions offered through it.
In particular, Afër enables users to publish listings, search for offers from other users, communicate with one another and leave reviews after a confirmed transaction.
As a rule, Afër is not the seller, buyer, intermediary, payment service provider, shipping service provider or escrow agent for the transactions offered between users. Contracts for the goods or services offered are concluded directly between the users involved.
2. Minimum age
A user account may only be used by persons who are at least 18 years old.
When registering, or after signing in through a supported external sign-in provider, users must confirm that they are of legal age by means of a separate 18+ self-confirmation.
Afër currently does not carry out any identity or age verification based on an identity document. The self-confirmation is therefore not a verified age check.
Publicly accessible areas of the platform can, as a rule, also be accessed without a user account.
3. Registration and user account
A user account is required for certain functions of Afër.
When registering with a password, users must provide a valid email address and protect their login credentials appropriately. Alternatively, the external sign-in methods offered by Afër can be used.
Users are responsible for providing the information required for their account correctly and for not passing on their login credentials without authorization.
If there is a suspicion that an account has been used without authorization, Afër should be informed without delay at info@aferteje.com.
Using an account for fraud, spam, circumventing suspensions or other abusive purposes is not permitted.
Anyone who offers goods or services as part of a commercial or self-employed professional activity must use a business account for this. Business accounts and their listings are marked as business.
A business account requires the company name, the business address and the registration number. The information must be correct and up to date. Afër does not verify it for accuracy; the business label is not a seal of quality. If the information is false, Afër may reset a business account to a private account or suspend it.
Business sellers are themselves responsible for meeting the legal obligations that apply to them, in particular information duties towards buyers.
4. Free use
Afër can currently be used free of charge.
At present, Afër in particular does not charge listing fees or sales commissions and does not offer paid promotion of listings. Afër does not itself process payments between users.
Should paid functions be introduced later, the terms applicable to them and the required information will be provided separately before they are used.
5. Listings
Users can publish their own listings within the available categories.
Each user is responsible for the content they publish. In particular, they must ensure that:
- the information in the listing is correct to the best of their knowledge and not misleading;
- they are entitled to offer the goods or services offered;
- images, texts and other content may lawfully be used;
- no third-party rights are infringed;
- statutory provisions are complied with.
Users should not include personal data in freely accessible description texts or images where its publication is not necessary.
Afër may technically process listings to the extent necessary for their display and provision on the platform. In particular, uploaded images may be technically converted, compressed or resized.
Afër may show a map of the municipality or of a dealer's location via Google Maps alongside listings and dealer profiles. Afër therefore includes Google Maps features and content. Their use is subject to the then-current Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service (https://maps.google.com/help/terms_maps/) and the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
6. Prohibited offers and content
Afër must not be used for unlawful offers or activities.
In particular, no content or offers may be published that are unlawful or that relate in particular to the following items or services:
- stolen or unlawfully obtained goods;
- illegal drugs and other prohibited substances;
- other dangerous items offered unlawfully;
- counterfeit goods or documents;
- login credentials that are stolen or offered without authorization;
- personal data of third parties that may not lawfully be offered or published;
- sexual services;
- other goods, services or content whose offer, acquisition or distribution is prohibited under the applicable law.
Regardless of whether offering them would be permitted in the individual case, the following are also prohibited on Afër, including for business accounts:
- Weapons: firearms of any kind, including air, gas, blank-firing and airsoft guns, as well as realistic replicas; ammunition, essential parts and accessories of firearms; explosives, fireworks and other pyrotechnics; crossbows, switchblades and butterfly knives, knuckle-dusters, stun guns and pepper spray; instructions for building or converting weapons. Kitchen, pocket and utility knives remain permitted, as do toys that do not look like a real weapon.
- Tobacco and nicotine: cigarettes, cigars, tobacco (including for shisha), chewing tobacco and nicotine pouches; e-cigarettes and vapes including liquids and accessories, even without nicotine; shisha pipes.
- Cannabis: cannabis and cannabis products, including CBD and THC products, seeds and plants, as well as accessories for consumption such as bongs.
- Alcohol: alcoholic beverages, including home-made ones such as raki or wine. Empty bottles and glasses remain permitted.
- Medicines with or without a prescription, anabolic steroids and doping substances, as well as food supplements with prohibited or unapproved substances.
When listings are published, Afër automatically checks their titles for clear terms for such items. Listings with such a term cannot be published. Afër may also remove prohibited listings at any time.
Spam, fraudulent or misleading offers, threats, insults, harassment and the abusive use of the communication functions are also prohibited.
7. Animals
Animal listings may only be published where the offer in question is permitted under the applicable law.
In particular, those offering animals are responsible for complying with the statutory requirements that apply to the animal concerned and to the type of offer concerned.
Afër may restrict or remove animal listings if there are doubts about their lawfulness or if they violate the platform rules.
8. Messages between users
Afër provides a messaging function through which users can communicate with one another.
Users may not use this function for spam, fraud, harassment, unlawful content or other abusive purposes.
Afër may use technical protective measures, for example rate limits, blocking functions or restrictions on certain links.
Afër does not routinely monitor all private conversations. If a specific message is reported, the reported message may be reviewed by persons authorized to do so, to the extent necessary. This does not affect any more extensive technical access that specially authorized administrators may have.
Further information on the processing of messages can be found in the privacy notice.
9. Transaction confirmation
Users can confirm within Afër that a transaction between them has been completed.
To do so, the seller can mark a listing as sold and select an associated conversation. The buyer can then confirm the completion.
Such a confirmation documents exclusively the information provided by the users involved within Afër. In particular, it is not proof that a payment, handover, delivery or other performance of the contract has actually taken place.
Afër does not guarantee the accuracy of such a confirmation.
10. Reviews
After a transaction has been confirmed in this way, the users involved can review each other within the designated review period.
Reviews can contain a rating of one to five stars and an optional text.
Reviews must relate to the transaction concerned. In particular, manipulated reviews, insults, threats, unlawful content and reviews that are not based on an actual corresponding transaction are not permitted.
Afër may examine reported reviews and restrict or remove them if they violate these terms of use.
11. Rights to user content
As a rule, users retain their rights to the content they post.
By uploading or publishing content, the user grants Afër the rights necessary for operating the platform to technically store, reproduce and process the content concerned and to display it publicly within Afër.
This permission is limited to the provision, technical processing, moderation and operation of Afër and, as a rule, ends when the content concerned is permanently deleted from Afër, unless further storage is required for a permissible reason.
Users may only upload content for whose use they hold the necessary rights.
12. Reports and moderation
Users can report suspicious or rule-breaking listings, reviews, messages or other conduct, where the corresponding reporting function is available.
Afër may examine reported content and the information required for this purpose.
In the event of violations of these terms of use or a justified suspicion of abuse, Afër may in particular:
- restrict or remove content;
- temporarily restrict functions of an account;
- temporarily suspend an account;
- permanently suspend an account in the event of serious or repeated violations.
The decision may in particular take into account the nature and severity of the violation, repeated violations and risks to other users.
A moderation decision by Afër does not decide a civil-law dispute between buyer and seller and does not constitute a determination of who is legally in the right in a transaction.
13. Transactions between users
Users decide for themselves whether, and on what terms, they conclude a transaction with another person.
Afër currently handles neither payment nor shipping or handover of the goods offered and does not hold purchase prices in escrow.
Before a transaction, users should check the details of the other user and of the offer themselves and exercise particular caution in the event of unusual payment requests or other suspicious circumstances.
Users may voluntarily provide their own phone number, which is shown to signed-in users on their listings. Only their own number, or a number they are authorized to use, may be added. Contact by phone, WhatsApp or Viber takes place outside Afër; the safeguards of the messaging feature do not apply there. Other users' phone numbers may only be used to get in touch about the respective listing; collecting, storing or passing them on is prohibited.
14. Availability of the platform
Afër endeavors to operate the platform reliably. However, availability at all times and without interruptions or errors cannot be guaranteed.
Afër may temporarily restrict functions, in particular for maintenance, security or technical changes or to prevent abuse.
15. Responsibility and liability
Afër provides the technical platform for listings and communication between users.
As a rule, the user concerned is responsible for the accuracy, completeness, quality, safety or lawfulness of user offers and for the performance of a transaction concluded between users.
This provision is not intended to exclude or limit any liability where such an exclusion or limitation would be impermissible under the applicable law.
16. Termination and deletion of an account
Users can request the deletion of their account using the procedure provided for this purpose.
After an account has been deleted, certain information may still be stored for a limited period or kept in anonymized form where this is necessary, for example, to handle existing matters, for security, to prevent abuse, to protect the rights of other users or due to legal requirements.
Details can be found in the privacy notice.
17. Changes to these terms of use
Afër may amend these terms of use if this becomes necessary, in particular due to new functions, legal requirements or necessary changes to the operation of the platform.
In the event of material changes, registered users will be informed in an appropriate manner before the amended terms govern their continued use, where this is required.
The current version at any given time is made available on Afër.
